Hello,
I am just showing you my ignorance but what is it about.My wife works in DC right now and very active in fighting for our cause,she is a nurse.She has few correspondence with few senators and congressman but it will be great if there is a bigger force behind it all.please let me know how we can help.I too am tired of waiting in a limbo,the uncertainty is too much and by the day I get so discouraged and sometimes on the verge of giving up.

Received my stimulus package. I am H1-B waiting for 485.
Thread title extremely misleading. The rules are clearly stated of how to receive stimulus package. OP's wife is clearly not eligible. We are all frustrated about USCIS but let's be fair to respective parties and not slander the innocent.

The video is obviously edited, so it is hard to put some of the statements into context without access to the entire transcript. (In any case, we cannot see what charts he is referring to)
Anyway: Regarding the point that it is relatively easy to find skilled people here than in India, I tend to agree. However, the reason is that the most skilled graduates from India (and China) do not stick around for long there, and are actually to be found here! Without checking the raw data it is impossible to comment on Mr Wadhwa's assertion regarding ease of filling positions in US vs India/China. (For instance, does his data on US companies include positions (in US) filled by immigrants or does it include only positions filled by US born citizens?)
Getting to where he is amazed that R&D is done in India & China, I'm not sure why that is surprising, and indeed, why should it even contradict his assertion that the vast majority of Indian/Chinese graduates are appalling. I'm not commenting on whether that assertion is true or not. I do not know, but, even granting it is true, it is important to remember that a minority of a large population might be as big, or bigger than the majority of a small population. (Remember, you have to exclude all foreign students from US universities and only include US born citizens in the population of American engineers. Why? Because all foreign students would need H1 to work here, just the same as a student in a Indian/Chinese university. To avoid 'double counting' basically) So how do we compare apples to apples? How do we compare "number of good engineers in US" vs "number of good engineers in China/India"? It is very hard to do that via a survey, if not impossible. The best survey is observing the "invisible hand" of the market: If good research is done in India/China, while simultaneously, immigrants from there have a had a huge role to play in Silicon Valley's success, that tells you something, does it not?

Almost all companies, in every field (engg, medicine, nursing, research..) hire people through contracting agencies. Most of the companies these days hire only US citizens or GC or EAD and try best not to hire H1b and if you look at their employees, it is rare to find 50% or more h1b holders.
On the contrary, outsourcing companies may have majority of their workers coming here on L1 or H1b and when such a fgee is imposed, I guess, for the biggies, it is just a small adjustment in their costs of bringing workers which they will adjust in their other expenses.
Overall, I am not sure, how much revenue such a law will generate. Will it generate enough revenue which is being claimed (600 million?)
To me, this kinda speech and trashing Indian companies and outsourcing etc... and showing that they acted on it just looks like it is pure politics to save face during the election year.

I see lots of frustration here. July fillers, you will definitely feel good after hearing my story. At least you are not in my situation. Read this: I was eligible to file in June under June visa bulletin. My deshi blood s^#$* employer did not provide me the letter in time. I am in my 7th year of H1B and they refused to provide my I-140 approval copy. I have the receipt# only. Attorney will not give it to me either. Now what should I do. You guys at lest will be able to file may be in future. What about me! Please suggest anyone!! Now I can not go to a new employer also! See, you are in better position than mine.

Just wondering you were born this way, just happened now when you arrived in US.

Can someone tell me where I might get details for registering a company (Or is that same as LLC).
I was thinking I will not get EAD earlier than 6 months and I got it in less than 6 weeks....so now am doing some basic ground work and would appreciate any guidance !!

Information meant for public will always be shared on the forum. It maybe delayed a bit.
However direct communication with Admins, Sharing of our strategy, developments etc will only be on donor forum. We do not anyways post it on open forums even now.
This initiative is to provide some incentive to members who support IV financially. In a couple of days we are launching another service to IV members that will be a big help. It will always be free for everyone and you will appreciate it. We are working on it these days.
There are some more ideas in the pipeline to even help all IV members. We just have 24 hours in a day, full time jobs and a life of our own. So we are trying to squeeze as much time possible to make this ideas be brought on IV quickly.

Hi all .. I am not writing this post to disagree with any one on any thing. I am very respectful of the members who participate this forum and write their suggestions/comments/ideas... Specially when I know people who are facing the same problem but do not make any efforts to solve it or join IV.
In the same lines .. my opinion , we probably need more followers and implementers who can direct IV core suggested plans.
