Dear schedule A professionals,
Please support member 'paskal' (physician) in his efforts.
Several exciting initiatives are underway on the healthcare front, and we also invite professionals from other fields(apart from healthcare). However, y'all must take up leadership and lead these efforts via IV as the platform!

the numbers may be exaggerated, but it doesnot change the facts..
even if we agree that its going to be 500k with 15-20% of them being indians, we still have a long wait ahead of us.
Rather than fighting among ourselves, we should channel our frustration/anger towards the fight for :
adding back unused visa numbers,
increase in GC numbers.
We can express our support to Senator Lofgren or whoever is leading this effort.
While we enjoy the interim benefits, our fight for permanent solution should not be obscured by it.

Tony Edson, Charlie Oppenheim's boss explaining the process of how the PD's are moved in VB. Says CIS uses 90% of the EB visa numbers. Says their job in last quarter becomes tough because of unpredictability and talks about the 95% utilization rate of visa numbers with in DOS

Landed on 03/1997 on H1B. Didn't file for GC until 2003 as plan was to work for 2-3 years, get into an MBA program, and then go back.
MBA resulted in loans of $120K which in turn meant spending some more time in the US which resulted in buying a house which resulted in even bigger loan.
Now living the American "dream" on EAD.

Just looking at the employment based inventory statistics, if every applicant were charged $2000 for visa recapture, it is close to $400M for uncle sam. All EB backlogs would be eliminated, new immigrants would continue contributing to Social security, pay taxes, buy new homes, invest etc... Cant they see the potential upside to this?

I was kind of oblivious and busy in my work since I applied labor �and was thinking everything will fall in place gradually..
I registered to this site today and just read this forum.. ..and �..simply freaking out �
My attorney applied my Labor in Nov 2006 (according to him) in Atlanta and I still don�t have any response �no audit �.nothing �.it is just in process�can u believe it?

I hope 140 and 485 is still not in retrogression state �. Do u guys know how long it will continue to be in this state�
You can ask your lawyer to send an email. I have read some cases in IV where after 90 days if the lawyer/employer sends ane email they respond with the status . why dont you try that?

I dont mean to say against the IV core's efforts. They are doing an amazing job with in their time limits.
But the issue is the time limit itself. There are 20K members dependent on the limited time of the IV Core. They can only see any change when these IV Core's limited time is put to use. And if for some reason IV core is engaged personal interests ( which cannot be denied because they have their personal life too) then valuable time goes wasted.
So the issue is the time spent on activities by the IV Core. We cannot force them to spend their lives on IV activities and at the same time cannot let down the IV member activities. So what is the best way. Get full time coordinators who can come up with strategies that can have real time implications.
Dont bash at me this is just my understanding of the situation.

I have seen some really well written letters from CORE before. If core can help us - we will all put in our two cents and can come up with a really good letter rather than rush in one!

But does the core believe in this. They obviously know more about dealing with senate and house and other influential parties.
Core members: Do you think mass mailing will get any attention. And do you think mass mailing everymonth to a selected group of people will work at all.

Has anyone done and research on what are the benefits of being LLC- S(single self employed) or to work for your wife's company (after she gets EAD) as compared to being on a regular payroll in a company..
I know you can show up your car/ cellphone/ homephone/ and some misc food expenses as for your business.
Has anyone done any detailed research on what is better?

Thanks all for the updates. Also the loan agent I am working seems to understand, the underwriter is the one causing issue. I-140 approval has already been submitted along with EAD copy and I-485 receipt, Still they need the visa copy, which is expired in my case.
Will try talking to them again. I have sent an email to Bank of America customer service wiith details and hope fully they respond back.

i had run these numbers a while back. for sure EB2 will reach the end of 2005 this year. i just hope its done systematically so that they clear everybody with an EB2 2005 PD this year.
Trust me, my friend - I surely believe in systematic movement and by this june/july it will be Dec05 or beyond. Dates for EB2 have stayed around apr04 for really longer and then suddenly to 06. Very few perms were cleared in 05 (as per your posting). It should logivcally be past 2005 , never to go back.BTW ,we missed GC last aug/sept lotto

Dont mean to dampen your spirits, happy for the poster of this thread. Could have been lucky to get approved while people like me ( Sep 2003) PD waiting 485 filed 3 yrs ago.
