Hi Friends,
I have a 4 yr Bachelors degree (B.Tech) in IT from India and also have MS in Computer & Network Engineering from UK.
Now my question is since most of the UK universities offer MS for 14-15 months, can I quailify for EB2 Categoy?

Hi Friends,
I have approved I-140 (PD Sep,2007) but recently my H1 extension was denied so had to come on H4, so now what will happen to my GC, do I have to start from scratch OR my I-140 is still valid once I come back on H1 (with different employer).

why was your H1-extension denied? If your employer supports, you can still file I-485 but he has to hold on to it till the date becomes current.

You are better off applying visa in a home country. Usually the have better access to verify records!

Hi - I am currently on H1B visa with 3 more years to go and visa stamped for next 3 years. I've got offer for Medical residency and they offer J1 only.
I am planning to change my status to J1 effective July 01 2009. Do I need to go India for visa stamping or any other procedure? Is just change of status okay?
Please help if you know anything related to this procedure.

Mine and my wife's 485 must have been "touched" today ... not sure why though. The status still says "Case received and pending..."
Any ideas fellow members? Could it be good sign or just standard update...?

I filed 485 last july and want to file EAD now. I had FP done last year. If I do efiling for EAD will I have to go to ASC for photos. I saw in other posts that they have linked Biometrics but what abt the photos ?

eFiling EAD will result in ASC appointment for code 2 biometics (Finger Printing of right Index finger + photo). You need to take the appointment letter and one form of photo id (passport or drivers id).
I had my ASC apt. for eFiled EAD last week (Feb. 12th).

USCIS has once again updated its announcement regarding the number of H-1B petitions received and counted towards the H-1B cap. As of May 4, USCIS has received approximately 45,000 H-1B petitions counting toward the Congressionally-mandated 65,000 cap. As such, USCIS continues to accept petitions subject to the general cap. Hi,
I am on H-1B with a company and have been through my 4years of H-1. Now they are saying that they might not be able to apply for my PR before the start of my 6th year of H-1 and are offering me the following option: Need to leave US and go back to India or any other country, will be paid US salary and then after one year will be brought back on a L-1A visa. Now my question is can they pay in US dollars while i am outside US and still be able to come back on L-1A visa? or do i need to change into local payroll?

USCIS reports that 1000 H-1Bs were receipted over the past week with 34,500 now counted. 400 masters cap cases were added bringing the total to 13,000 in that category. That's about on pace with the last several weeks and the exhaustion target in that category remains February 2011. My methodology is simple. Check the status using the H1B receipt number usually EACXXXXXX or WACXXXXXX

Is it possible to change employer when you are in the 7th year of H1B ?
Is it possible to have the new employer file PERM for you while you are with current employer?

My ead card production ordered. I efiled on April 27th.
Rediculous, the processing times say it takes 90 days minimum. hopefully they will give the extension from my expiry date which is Aug 28th 2008.
